Dhulikhel Sunrise Resort has become something of a pilgrimage site for serious landscape photographers. The combination of altitude, unobstructed Himalayan panorama, diverse lighting conditions, and proximity to traditional Newari villages creates an extraordinary range of photographic opportunities within a 5km radius.

The Golden Hour

Sunrise is the most dramatic — typically 20–45 minutes after the peaks first catch light (around 5:45–6:15am depending on season). The peaks glow deep amber-orange before transitioning through gold, rose, and brilliant white. Our premium rooms face east specifically to maximise this experience.

We offer a dedicated Photography Sunrise Workshop with our in-house guide every Saturday morning. Limited to 6 participants. Book at least 3 days in advance.
